HYFC U18s among teams celebrating season with a trophy after winning Division 2

Resilience, confidence and friendship stand out in reports from our coaches
- Alex Wagstaff

We're celebrating another fabulous year as players gather for our annual Club Presentation Day at the Airfield Pavilion.

HYFC’s U18s is among the teams celebrating with a trophy. The side concluded its youth football journey with the Division 2 title! Seven players in the team (pictured) started in the U6s.

By the end of this weekend, four teams could be celebrating title wins including the U11s and U12 Colts.

Reports from all teams are included in the Season Review 2025/26 which is attached or can be read at leisure here.

Alex Wagstaff, Club Chairman, commented:

“Achievements in leagues and cups are complemented by the qualities our players have developed during the season. Resilience, confidence and friendship stand out in reports from our coaches.”

HYFC is committed to welcoming more young people to play football, regardless of any barriers they may face.

Chiltern Comets, the PAN-Disability team we run in partnership with Risborough and Wendover, has seen player numbers increase by 50% this season.

We have supported The JR Sports Group in staging Haddenham Wildcats, an FA-backed scheme for girls aged 5-11 to start football. Meanwhile, Girls’ football continues to attract more players, building on the success of the Lionesses.

The HYFC Community Fund ensures children from families who are struggling financially can still enjoy football, thanks to the sponsorship of Haddenham Park Care Home and support from Haddenham Village Fete.

Alex added:

“We’re extremely grateful to the growing number of sponsors which ensure HYFC players can shine in their kit. We continue to seek more commercial support so we can deliver a high quality Club experience.”

We will present our inaugural Club Person of the Year award to a player who has gone the extra mile this season to support teammates and contribute to the Club. It is sponsored by Haddenham Park Care Home.

Club priorities include raising coaching standards and improving pitch facilities.

Alex concluded:

“Thank you to the coaches, volunteers and committee members who make football happen every week in a safe, inclusive and fun environment.

“Special thanks to parents and carers who entrust their children with us. Most importantly, thank you to every single player for being part of our Club.”

We are already preparing for the 2026/27 season, including the introduction of 3x3 football for our youngest teams. We are also planning our next Festival of Football on the weekend of Saturday 29 August and Sunday 30 August 2026.
