The stage is set for our biggest ever Festival of Football this weekend! We can't wait to welcome around 150 local teams to join HYFC sides from across the Club.
Around 1,200 young players from Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and beyond will participate in the friendly event, joined by coaches and families. Following the success of the Lionesses, even more girls’ teams will take part in the event and a special Women’s 5-a-side event has been added to the schedule.
Redrow South Midlands is returning as Festival Partner.
Visiting teams will park on Haddenham Business Park, thanks to the support of DAF, IPro Solutions Ltd and SkyHawke Technologies UK Ltd. A large team of Festival volunteers will help visitors find their way to parking and onto the pitches.
Alex Wagstaff, HYFC Club Chairman, said:
“Our Festival of Football is firmly re-established as the best way for clubs in our area to kick off their seasons. It is an especially important fundraising event for the Club, generating income to invest in our priorities: enhancing the coaching experience; improving facilities and systems; and providing special experiences for our players.”
HYFC's new Club Patron, Trevor Steven, will be joining us on Sunday morning with his first official duty to present trophies for the U7, U11 and U16 Girls events.
Alex Giles, chair of the Festival’s organising committee, added:
“I want to say thank you all our supporters who make this Festival possible, including returning Festival Partner Redrow South Midlands. The Club is also grateful to local businesses which donate car parking facilities along with PSP, Bradmoor Farm Sports Bar and K&A Scaffolding.
"Thanks in advance to residents in the Tibbs Road area for accommodating the Festival. From stewards to signage, we’ll do everything possible to minimise any disruption.”
PSP (AV rental and technical production) along with Bradmoor Farm Sports Bar and K&A Scaffolding are supporting the event with PA, radio communications and staging.
HYFC volunteers will be serving refreshments from the Airfield Pavilion, supported by a small number of local vendors including pizza, ice cream and sweets. Haddenham’s own Blooming Fruity will also be operating a stall.
Meanwhile, you can check fixtures, pitch locations, results and standings on Tournify Live.
From stewards to signage, HYFC will do everything possible to minimise any disruption to the area. Local residents are welcome to enjoy the Festival with entry £2 on the gate.
