HYFC is proud to be part of a local partnership with the ‘Chiltern Comets’, a Pan-Disability football team for 5-11 year olds.
Five local clubs have come together to provide this opportunity for neurodiverse and physically disabled children to play ‘the ‘beautiful game’. We are working with Flackwell Heath Minors, Naphill Youth, Risborough Rangers Juniors and Wendover Juniors. This initiative is sponsored and supported by the FA’s ‘Comets’ programme. It is designed to be great fun for the players, to help build confidence and social skills as well as contributing to overall fitness and wellbeing.
What types of disabilities do the Chiltern Comets support? Our sessions cater for neurodiverse and physically disabled children with a broad spectrum of impairments and health conditions. At present, due to safety reasons, we are unable to cater for players who use a wheelchair, are blind or partially sighted or use walking frames. We can however put parents/carers in contact with someone to find something suitable if you get in touch.
How is the Chiltern Comets funded and how much do sessions cost? The ‘Comets’ initiative is funded by the five partnership clubs and is sponsored and supported by the FA’s ‘Comets’ programme. Sessions are currently free of charge to all players.
When do the Chiltern Comets sessions take place? Sessions run weekly outside on a 3G pitch in Wendover on Friday evenings between 6.15-7.30pm. To book a place or a taster session, please click on the link below and complete the booking form: https://forms.gle/JhHVV9aTVP6cDyB37
How do I find out more information? Please contact Head Coach Nick Cuthbert below, or email chiltern.comets@gmail.com and we will reply to your message as soon as possible.
